Prophetic Dance
Apostle Dr. Pamela Hardy
Prophetic movements are the movements of God. They are the movements that come from His heart, from His throne - movements that begin in the Spirit realm that God releases to us here on earth to accomplish His purposes. God is calling a people who will know the times and the seasons and know what to do. Rev. 19:10 says the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. He is calling a prophetic people, who will hear Him, speak His words and demonstrate His purposes. Prophetic ministry is the heart of God revealed to us, revealed through us. We are called to be prophetic enactments of the Holy Spirit; called to be visual demonstrations of what God is saying and doing. God has dances from heaven that He wants to dance through us to bring change and meet the needs of people. These dances are Spirit to Spirit. When we allow God’s movements to flow through us, we will see signs follow. We will see people healed, delivered and set free by His power. We will see people brought into a new dimension in Christ. As the physical becomes an extension of the spiritual, God’s power is released in the earth upon the hearts of men. Healing, deliverance, prosperity, peace, joy and all that we need to live abundant lives has already been established in heaven. I believe we can reach up into the heavens and by faith pull down those things that God has provided for us. Amos 9:11 and Acts 15:16 tells us that the restoration of the Tabernacle of David is so that we might possess the remnant. The word possess is the Hebrew word yaresh. It literally means to occupy by driving out the previous tenants. In other words, we can declare God’s healing where there is sickness. We can declare God’s deliverance where there is bondage. We do this by the spoken word of God. Jesus said, “My words are spirit and they are life”. His word never returns void of that which He purposes. We do this by lifting our voices in praise to God. We do this by using our hands to smite. Clapping our hands is associated with praise but also with smiting the enemy. God told the prophet Ezekiel to smite with his hands and stamp with his feet. This was a sign of God’s judgement against His enemies. Our feet represent authority. He has given us every piece of ground the soles of our feet tread upon. Luke chapter 10 says we trample on serpents and scorpions and on all the power of the enemy and nothing shall harm us. According to Psalm 18, God has given us the necks of our enemies. These become prophetic movements of the body as we yield to Him. Dance in the church today is a fulfillment of prophecy. Jer. 31:13 says that in the last days the virgin shall rejoice in the dance. The word virgin in this scripture is the word bride. We are preparing ourselves to be His bride. Rev. 19:7 says let us rejoice and be glad, for the marriage supper of the lamb has come and the bride has made herself ready. In these last days, we will see God rebuilding His church, preparing His bride. In the book of Exodus, God miraculously delivered the children of Israel from many years in bondage to Pharaoh. He brought them through the Red Sea. This represents the fact that we have been delivered from sin, death, hell, sickness and the grave itself. We have been brought through the blood of Jesus. Miriam the Prophetess led the women in the dance. It was a custom in those days for the closest female relative to meet and to greet a returning victor after a battle. Miriam was the closest female relative to Moses and we are the closest female relative to Jesus. He is our returning victor. He has won the victory and we demonstrate His authority in the earth. The Feast of Tabernacles, the Feast of His coming, was a main event associated with dance in Israel. As His return gets closer, we will dance more and more. We will say to God, we are your bride. We know you are the victor and we are making ourselves ready. Our dancing says to the world, He is coming – get ready. Our dancing says to the enemy, your time is short. Our dancing says to each other, see the vision, have faith. As we testify to one another of the goodness and provision of God, we yield to the Spirit of prophecy, for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy.A Challenge to ARISE and WAKE UP!It is obvious that we are living in very strategic and prophetic times. Jesus said that the people who know their God will be mighty and do great exploits in the Holy Spirit (Dan. 11:32). God is raising up an anointed army of believers. The Lord is releasing us to go on the offensive by raising up a praying church that operates in the prophetic anointing with signs, wonders, healing and deliverance. With this in mind, we must endeavor each day to receive a fresh impartation of the Spirit, that we might rise up to become prophetically gifted people with a heart after God alone. These end times require a radical people with radical worship and a radical love for God – a people who are willing to let go of the past, let go of religion and tradition and press into their God ordained purpose. These end times require a prophetic people who have learned the secret of the secret place. These end times require a people with an apostolic mandate from God to go forth into the entire world to preach the Gospel. This end time harvest will be won by worshipping warriors sold out to the cause of Christ. To be apart of the Reformation of the church, we must be those who see the need for reform, for change, and cry out to God who alone can bring forth His bride. God is trying to shift us into a new place, for the latter day church will be greater than the former. So let us ARISE and WAKE UP CHURCH! Let us lay aside the sin and weight, which does so easily beset us and run with patience the race that is set before us (Heb. 12:1). Let us receive the anointing from On High that will propel us into destiny and allow us to dance the dances for the entire world to see. The nations are crying out for dances of victory that will set the captives free!

We are fooling ourselves if we think that people are not observing our lives beyond the platform. Many dancers don glorious garments, display perfectly coiffed hairstyles, and have rehearsed the answers in advance in response to praise received from those who witness the dances ("Well, bless the Lord!" "No, don't thank me, thank God!" --While inwardly relishing in the comments made to them about anointing and skilled technical execution and repeating them to all who will listen...). Away from the spotlight, who are we, really?
There will always be critics. The Word declares that we are blessed when persecuted for the sake of righteousness. What if the things being said about us are true? Are we also known as money-hungry? Mean-spirited? Difficult to work with? Unfaithful? Argumentative? Controlling? Manipulative? Divisive? Selfish? While none of us may want to confess to these areas of weakness, if we keep hearing people say the same things about our character over and over again, we need an emergency appointment with God so that he is able to give us a much needed transplant.
Our good works should be known by those we work with, as well as to our surrounding friends, families, and communities. We cannot be consumed with defending ourselves against those who persecute us without cause. Any character flaw that is not submitted to the Lord's correction will affect our ministries in the long run. As much as it is possible, we should seek to have a good name as a byproduct of living lives submitted to the Lord. A well-crafted advertising campaign is not what makes a great name. Let's aim to serve the Lord both in word and deed.
(New King James Bible Version)
Proverbs 22:1
A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, loving favor rather than silver and gold.
Ecclesiastes 7:1
[The Value of Practical Wisdom] A good name is better than precious ointment, and the day of death than the day of one’s birth
Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Titus 1:16
They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.

Many who host dance conferences, lead movement ministries, or teach often talk about unity, being on one accord, and being many members of one Body. The stark reality of many groups and ministries is that this unity usually hinges on the requirement that you must join their group, cause or organization for this to occur. This is not "Kingdom" by any means.
I recently posted the following personal quote on Facebook: "Greatness is not intimidated by greatness, but rather submits in order to surpass. If those more experienced, skilled, or wise cause us to feel inferior, then we are operating in mediocrity and not excellence. Iron sharpens iron!" The general point of this is that jealously and envy cannot survive where humility is the order of the day. When we are led by the Spirit, we will have the wisdom to learn from those around us. These people do not necessarily have to be "dance ministry celebrities" or famous preachers. God can use anyone to impact our lives if our ears and eyes are open!
My friend Dr. Franca Fauntleroy chimed in and noted, "I sometimes wonder if we really operate in ministry or mayhem because Christians can be so cruel." I had to agree with this observation, and lament for many of the wounded movement ministers who have been maimed by overly-ambitious, money-hungry, fame-seeking, territory claiming, myopic wolves in sheep's clothing!
This injury is made manifest by excommunication, isolation, expulsion, blacklisting, ridicule, and malicious intent. The weapons of choice are verbal (spoken/written), social (ignoring others/intentional avoidance/animosity), technological (email/website articles/blogging/social networking), and spiritual (twisting the Word to gain an advantage/abusing the pulpit to preach our own agendas/hoping for destruction to befall the ministries of others).
Many of us have different areas of passion or concentration, but we really should have one common goal: Proclaim the Gospel and make disciples. Because many of our leaders have erroneously pushed our own agendas, we have drawn swords against one another. This is not ministry, this is mayhem!
Ministry
The office, duties, or functions of a minister
The body of ministers of religion: clergy
A person or thing through which something is accomplished :agency, instrumentality
Mayhem
Willful and permanent deprivation of a bodily member resulting in the impairment of a person's fighting ability
Willful and permanent crippling, mutilation, or disfigurement of any part of the body
Needless or willful damage or violence
Now that we have defined the difference, let us make an assessment:
When any of us inflicts damage on a fellow co-laborer, it's not ministry:
It's mayhem!
If we secretly desire the downfall of another and facilitate this by innuendo and threats for followers to disassociate with the offender:
It's mayhem!
When we encourage people to follow us instead of God:
It's mayhem!
When we operate out of impure motives and deception:
It's mayhem!
Each of us needs to examine ourselves today and repent for any actions that were provoked by the flesh and our own personal feelings. Deception has crept in and influenced even the elect among our ranks. We can pray, prophesy, and preach with the best of them, but unless we live the Word, we are facilitating mayhem and not ministry.
New King James Bible Version
Proverbs 10:12
Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins.
Acts 7:26-27
And the next day he appeared to two of them as they were fighting, and tried to reconcile them, saying, ‘Men, you are brethren; why do you wrong one another?’ But he who did his neighbor wrong pushed him away, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge over us?
Acts 8:23
For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.
Romans 3:13
“Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit”; “The poison of asps is under their lips”
2 Timothy 2:14
[Approved and Disapproved Workers] Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers.
